It has been confirmed that original stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the latest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Production is currently underway.
An Important Reunion for Fans
Lawrence and Hutcherson are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. Industry whispers indicate their cameos will likely occur in a brief glimpse ahead, considering the main film series concluded with their characters settled into family life.
This represents the sixth installment in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.
Delving Into the Prequel
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a newly published work by author Suzanne Collins. It serves as the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who was behind most of the previous films in the series.

The supporting roles feature several prominent actors in important characters:
- Jesse Plemons will portray Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes is cast as a younger version of the calculating President Snow.
