The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The author

Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an investigation into allegations of questionable actions towards female individuals.

The publisher has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
