Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice

The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and were in contact with the NFL.

The organization omitted the name of the player specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Allegations Posted on Instagram

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, shared a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.

Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles

The receiver missed the initial part of this season following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left multiple people injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

On the field, he concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
