FC Barcelona to Host Historic Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga over two years following their departure for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees can be present as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. They mentioned approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
