Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Player of the Year Honors.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight season.
The twenty-seven-year-old won four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – which included successfully defending the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles title.
A Season of Dominance
Across the season, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.
This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Historic Statistics
Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a 63-12 win-loss record, and picked up a historic eleven million pounds in tournament winnings.
She garnered almost 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a new level".
